Interacting closely with my students, their families and social environment, I have been able to understand the issues facing my students and come up with creative and practical solutions to their academic, social, and economic needs.

Working in an economically backward area with students coming from the families of daily wage earners and low-income strata, as a teacher, I am often involved in addressing various needs of my students ranging from organizing their mid-day meals to arranging basic study material.

Very often, I along with my fellow teachers go beyond the call of our duty to involve parents, local community the local government bodies and community leaders to address the basic needs of our students ranging from food, sanitation, and safe dwelling.

Working in a coastal area comes with various challenges ranging from frequent spread of waterborne illnesses, communicable diseases, and natural calamities such as floods and cyclones affecting both the health and livelihoods of our students.

As a I teacher, I play an active role in helping the students and local community in times of such distress.

During this period, I was actively involved in teacher implemented projects to sow the seeds of love of nature in the children such as river conservation, water conservation project, native flower conservation, vegetable cultivation, vegetable garden and biodiversity initiatives.

Personal goals and objectives : As a teacher, my primary goal in life is to reach message of value of education to my students and their immediate families.

Education is knowledge. It is my conviction that knowledge is the best investment any society can make in its future generations. Family being the most primary unit of the society, it is very important to inculcate the awareness of the importance of education at family level.

While I strongly believe education should be accessible to all students across the country without social or economic discrimination, I am convinced that the society and the government should strive towards enabling students to focus on their studies without the burden of earning worrying about food and shelter at a very young age.

Covid-19 outbreak, and the subsequent lockdowns have warranted online education. The biggest challenge for me as a teacher has been to find solutions to reach out to our students and helping them acquire mobile phones to attend online classes. With the support of teachers, parents and the local community we have been able to address this issue effectively.
